CAN YOU ACTUALLY MAKE SOMEONE FASTER?
The biggest myth in speed training is athletes are born with a certain speed and it can't be improved. This myth has been referenced many times throughout sports training the last few decades. There have been huge improvements the last 5 years and we now know exactly how to help improve your athlete's overall speed using targeted high quality exercises. Our camp staff will help teach your athlete how to become faster, more explosive, and more athletic for their current and future athletic careers. Each and every sport can benefit from faster, more explosive athletes. The second myth in speed training is tiredness being a measurement for a good quality workout. TRUE speed training is centered around high quality, low quantity work. This camp is NOT intended to wear out or tire your athlete, but rather illicit a brain response to improve high intensity performance. While athletes may be tired after certain workouts this simply isn't a goal. This is an upper level speed training course for those seeking a REAL gain in speed. There are no time filling exercises or mindless running involved in this academy. This is extremely high intensity, neurally driven exercises proven to improve speed over time. The reason we moved to a 6 session, 3 week academy rather than 3 days is centered around seeing REAL results and improvements upon your child's speed. We have found through timing thousands of sprints overs the last 3 years that 3 weeks is the minimum to see any improvement.
ACADEMY GOALS
Our goal for this academy is to give your child the tools to become a better athlete in any and all sports they choose to compete in. We become better athletes by learning how to properly sprint and jump. These workouts are used by our track team, but are not specific to track. Members of the volleyball, softball, football, and soccer teams also use these workouts and exercises. Our top priorities are to create happy and healthy athletes. Healthier and happier athletes will always compete at a higher level. We strive as a program to always make sure our athletes are in a good physical and mental space in order to compete to the best of their abilities. The rest will take care of itself.
