The Key to Hurdling
Hurdlers are often seen as the best athletes on the track and field team based on the demands of the event. To be a great hurdler, it takes speed, strength, coordination, rhythm, toughness, and confidence. We take great pride in developing hurdlers each and every season. These hurdlers compete against the best in the city and on the South Plains. We use various drills to help develop and teach each of the qualities above. This camp will be not only for current hurdlers, but for those who wish to learn how to hurdle and may have never done so before.
ACADEMY GOALS
Our goal for this academy is to help your athlete develop the skills necessary to learn how to hurdle, or become a better hurdler. The drills and workouts used will be targeting skills like rhythm, speed, and hurdle technique. We will break it down into different aspects of hurdling. We will focus on takeoff timing, lead leg position, trail leg position, lead leg snap down, and rhythm between hurdles. Whether you are a multi season hurdler, or never hurdled before, this camp will be a great step towards becoming a better and improved hurdler.
